Regan Golden Solo Exhibition

  • Viewpoint Gallery 591 Hamline Avenue North Saint Paul, MN, 55104 United States (map)

The solo exhibition Green Screen by artist Regan Golden celebrates the arrival of spring with lush large-scale photographs and collages of Minnesota plants. Mosses, Lichens, Oak Leaves, Maple Saplings, and Grasses suffuse these images created using a high-resolution scanner to reproduce this greenery in incredible detail. Like looking through a microscope at a miniature landscape, this series of new works reflects Golden’s passion for art and science by combining collage and botany. A “green screen” on a film set functions as the stage for an imaginary world, but also a removable backdrop. Golden’s “Green Screen” is also a built world, but made up of the plants that surround us everyday.  This exhibition extracts these common plants that form the background of our everyday lives and places them in full view. As a lifelong resident of Saint Anthony Park and a proud graduate of St. Paul Central High School, this is Golden’s first exhibition in Saint Paul!
